Today I want to talk about faith.
The simplest definition of the concept is belief without evidence.
I find in today’s world, it is hard to come by.
People are so focused on what they want, and when they want it. Oftentimes it’s easy to stay glued to that concept.
Modern capitalism is all about our desires being right at our fingertips.
Having hope, or having faith can be associated with being naive.
It’s easy to be pessimistic in today’s world, I get it.
It’s a very scary time to be alive.
(They’re saying AI could kill us all in no time.)
Very spooky stuff.

Personally, I’m going through a really rough point in my life.
I thought I’d be at college right now, running around with people my own age.
But I got sick, and now I have to wait to go back.
It sucks.
But instead of blaming other people, or myself, I have faith. Faith this happened for a reason. Faith the administrators at my school will have me back when I’m ready.
Faith the work I’m putting in each and every day is going to help me get better.
In the song Oh Yeah, by Steve Lacy, he has a line that says, “Please I beg, can my hope be of value?”
The answer to that question in my opinion is yes.

Having hope in such uncertain times is extremely valuable.
Having hope for the future, faith in yourself, and in other people is crucial.
Trust me, I know the world is scary, and I know how hard life can be.
But I encourage you, have hope, and have faith.
Things might not always work out the way you want them to, but everything will be ok.
I have no proof to back it up, but I have faith.
